The Malone University men's tennis team came as close to victory as is possible in a pair of matches on Wednesday but lost 5-4 decisions to both York College (PA) and Elizabethtown College (PA) on during the team's spring break trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. With the 0-2 day, Malone dropped to 4-7 on the 2012-13 season.

In the York match, Youssef ElSonbaty (#1 and Nate Davis (#2) earned the singles wins while the Pioneer doubles victories went to ElSonbaty/Davis (#1) and Alex Steinmetz/Steffan Dwarkasingh (#3).

Against Elizabethtown, ElSonbaty (#1), Davis (#2) and Steinmetz (#4) picked up the singles triumphs while ElSonbaty and Davis teamed for a #1 doubles win.

Malone will continue its competition in Hilton Head on Thursday with a match against St. John Fisher (NY) at 9:00 a.m.
