Match Results

The Malone University men's tennis team picked up a victory in its first match during a spring break trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina on Monday with a convincing 7-2 win over Catholic University (D.C.).  The victory was also the Pioneers' third straight on the campaign.  With the win, Malone improved to 3-4 on the year (0-2 GLIAC) while Catholic fell to 4-3 overall.

Youssef ElSonbaty and Nate Davis each posted straight set wins at #1 and #2 singles and teamed for a #1 doubles win as well.  Alex Steinmetz and Steffan Dwarkasingh teamed at #3 doubles for the other Pioneer doubles victory.

Other singles winners included Vladyslav Dyenyezhka (#3), Steinmetz (#4) and Andrew Hill (#6).

Malone will next compete in a pair of matches on Tuesday -- vs. Trine (IN) at 8:30 a.m. and vs. Post (CT) at 1:30 p.m.
