Match Results

The Malone University men's tennis team had its three-match winning streak snapped on Wednesday by the closest of margins as the Pioneers dropped a 5-4 non-conference contest on the road to Cedarville University.  With the loss, Malone fell to 7-8 on the season while Cedarville improved to 4-8.

With the singles matches being played first, the two teams split the six singles contests at 3-3 as Youssef ElSonbaty  at #1, Alex Steinmetz  at #4, and Steffan Dwarkasingh  at #5, earned the Malone wins.  With a three-set loss at #2 singles, Nate Davis saw his impressive 11-match singles win streak come to an end.

In doubles competition, the Yellow Jackets earned a win at #1 while Steinmetz and Dwarkasingh secured a victory at #3.  The #2 doubles match was the last contest to finish as Cedarville captured that win, and the match, with an 8-3 triumph at #2.

Malone will next compete in a home GLIAC match on Friday vs. Lake Erie College in a 1:00 p.m. contest at the Green Tennis Club in Green, Ohio.
