The Malone University men's tennis team extended its winning streak to three matches, tying its longest of the season, with a 9-0 home victory over Thiel College (PA) at the Green Tennis Club in Green, Ohio Saturday evening.
With the win, Malone improved to 7-7 overall on the year (remaining at 0-2 in the GLIAC) while Thiel dropped to 4-3 on the campaign.
The Pioneers cruised to victory by not dropping a set during the entire match. In singles,
Youssef ElSonbaty notched a win at #1 while
Nate Davis earned his 11th straight #2 singles win of the season. Other singles winners included
Vladyslav Dyenyezhka at #3,
Alex Steinmetz at #4,
Steffan Dwarkasingh at #5 and
Andrew Hill at #6.
In doubles, ElSonbaty and Davis teamed for a victory at #1, Hill and Dyenyezhka combined for a #2 win, and Dwarkasingh and Steinmetz secured the triumph at #3.
Malone will next compete in another non-conference match on Wednesday (March 20th) at Cedarville University at 3:00 p.m.
