Series:
Findlay has won each of the three previous meetings with Malone. The two schools, both former NAIA members, first met in an NAIA playoff game at Findlay on December 2, 1995 – a contest the Oilers won 15-7. Findlay then tallied a 13-10 regular-season victory in Canton on October 5, 1996. The series was renewed last fall as the Oilers tallied a 38-14 home victory.
Coaches:
Malone –
Eric Hehman is in his fourth season as the Pioneers' head coach and has tallied 10-30 record at Malone. Prior to arriving in Canton, Hehman spent the previous five years as the head coach at NCAA Division III Greenville (IL) College where he led the Panthers to a 28-22 record and a berth in the 2009 NCCAA Victory Bowl.
Findlay –
Rob Keys is now in his third season as the Oilers head coach and has guided UF to a 19-11 overall record. Keys previously served as an assistant coach for the Oilers from 2000-04. He then held assistant coaching positions at Indiana State Univ., Slippery Rock (PA) University, and the Univ. of New Hampshire before returning to Findlay to become the Oilers' head coach.

Malone Notes – The Pioneers set a new school record with 49 second-half points on Saturday in a 59-42 shootout win at Alderson Broaddus (WV) Univ…Malone trailed 13-10 at halftime before exploding for 35 points in the third stanza (which tied the Pioneer record for most points in one quarter)…434 of the Pioneers' 534 total yards came on the ground Saturday as Malone ended the afternoon with the third-highest single-game rushing total in school history…Saturday marked the third time this year that the Pioneers have eclipsed 500 total yards... 2009 was the last time that Malone had reached 500 or more yards in three separate games….Malone is currently ranked fifth among the GLIAC's 15 teams in rushing (234.7 yards per game), seventh in scoring (31.8 points per game) and eighth in total yards (408.6 yards per game)… The Pioneers also lead the conference with a red zone touchdown percentage of 79%...Overall, the Pioneers have posted 27 TDs and three field goals on 34 trips inside their opponents' 20-yard line this year...The Malone defense recorded eight sacks and forced four turnovers on Saturday, both season highs.

Jordan Phillips was named the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week after racking up 260 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns during Saturday's victory…Phillips set a new Malone single-game record by totaling 182 kickoff return yards, highlighted by a 95-yard touchdown return which marked the third longest run back in program history… the red-shirt freshman also tallied 21 and 32-yard receiving touchdowns and a 21-yard touchdown run …QB
Will Szpor entered Saturday's game at the start of the second half and threw a pair of TD passes while also rushing for two more scores…Szpor has now completed 76 of 127 passes (59.8%) this year for 873 yards with eight TDs while also rushing for 236 yards and five touchdowns…RB
Justin Davis carried the ball 22 times for 150 yards (6.8 average) and one TD against the Battlers while RB
Steven Niewiedzial added 129 yards on 15 attempts (8.6 average), giving Malone two 100-yard rushers for the second time this year…Davis has now tallied 602 rushing yards on the year with a team-high nine TDs (six rushing, three receiving)… DB
Demarco Donaldson continues to lead all of NCAA Division II with five forced fumbles…Donaldson has posted double-digit tackles in eight of nine games so far this season and his average of 11.8 tackles per game is tied for first in the conference…DL

Findlay Notes – The Oilers opened the year at 1-2 but have since won five of their last six games, including a dramatic 35-28 victory at home over Ashland University this past Saturday…Although the Eagles managed to rally back from a 28-13 fourth-quarter deficit and tie the game at 28-28, Findlay engineered a late 74-yard drive, connecting on the game-winning, 24-yard TD pass with only three seconds remaining…The Oilers piled up 488 yards of offense, including 300 rushing yards on Saturday…Findlay currently ranks among the GLIAC leaders in numerous offensive categories including total yards (2nd; 511.7 per game), points (4th; 37.0 per contest), rushing (3rd; 259.7 yards per outing), time of possession (3rd; 31:11 per game) and first downs (2nd; 25.0 per game)…The Oilers are also second in the conference in kickoff-return average at 25.5 yards per attempt…The Findlay defense has yielded an average of 438.1 yards per game but still ranks fifth in the GLIAC in scoring, giving up 28.8 points per game…The Oiler defense currently leads the GLIAC with 31 sacks.
Findlay players to watch: RB Daiquone Ford tallied 186 rushing yards and two TDs during Saturday's victory…On the season, the sophomore has already racked up 1580 rushing yards on 278 attempts (5.7 average) with 21 touchdowns… Ford's average of 175.6 rushing yards per game currently leads the GLIAC and ranks third in all of NCAA Division II while his 21 TDs are tied for the second-most in the nation …Ohio State transfer Verlon Reed was the Oilers' starting QB for the first seven games, throwing for 1791 yards and 11 touchdowns before an injury forced him out of the line-up…Devontae Payne, a 6'7, 250-pound transfer from Easter Michigan, has taken over the QB duties since Reed's injury, completing 28 of 62 passes for 429 yards with four TD's and two interceptions…WR Lloyd Henry has been the top target in the passing game with 59 catches for 808 yards and six TDs…Henry is currently third in the conference in receptions per game (6.6) while ranking fifth in receiving yards (89.8 per outing)…WR Seth White, who hauled in the game-winning score against Ashland, follows with 508 receiving yards and five TDs…DB Tory Clark's average of 29.6 yards per kickoff return ranks second in the GLIAC…DE Kevin Brewton leads the conference with 8.5 sacks…DB Harold Jones-Quarterly has picked off two passes to go with a team-high 78 tackles.
