The Dragons hold a slim 6-5 advantage in the all-time series with the Pioneers. Tiffin had won four straight games over Malone before the Pioneers pulled out a 40-34, double-overtime victory in last year's season opener at Fawcett Stadium (Sept. 1)

Eric Hehman is in his third season as the Pioneers' head coach and has tallied a 7-17 record at Malone. Prior to arriving in Canton, Hehman spent the previous five years as the head coach at NCAA Division III Greenville (IL) College where he led the Panthers to a 28-22 record and a berth in the 2009 NCCAA Victory Bowl.
Tiffin –
Gary Goff is in his second year as the head coach of the Dragons and has posted a 1-14 record at Tiffin. Prior to becoming TU's head coach, Goff had most recently served as the offensive coordinator at West Virginia Wesleyan University, helping the Bobcats improve from a 2-8 season in 2009 to a 9-2 mark in 2010. Goff's coaching resume also includes previous assistant positions at Princeton University and New Mexico State University.

Malone Notes – The Pioneers fell at home to NCAA Div. II #21 Wayne State University on Saturday by a final score of 38-14…Malone trailed by a narrow 14-7 margin late in the second quarter before the Warriors took command of the contest by tacking on two TD's just before halftime...With 144 rushing yards vs. WSU, the Pioneers have now gained 100 or more yards on the ground in five straight contests (when taking into account the final two games of 2011 and the first three match-ups of 2012)…Malone currently ranks sixth among the GLIAC's 16 schools in time of possession, holding the ball for an average of 30:06 through its first three games.

Tiffin Notes – The Dragons opened up their 2012 campaign with a 23-13 home win over McKendree (IL) University…However, Tiffin has since lost its first three GLIAC contests, falling on the road to Michigan Tech and dropping home games to Grand Valley State (MI) and Northwood (MI)…Last week, Northwood outscored the Dragons 14-0 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 35-14 win…Tiffin currently ranks seventh in the GLIAC in passing as its “Air Raid” offense has generated an average of 23 completions and 205 yards through the air in its first four games …Tiffin is also the second least-penalized team in the conference, having been flagged just 13 times for 119 total penalty yards in four games.
Tiffin players to watch: QB James Capello, who transferred to Tiffin from NCAA Division I Iowa State University prior to the start of the 2011 season, has thrown for 782 yards and four touchdowns through the Dragons' first four games of 2012…Another Division I transfer is featured at RB in junior Dominique White…Playing in his first year for Tiffin, White is the Dragon's leading rusher, having gained 208 yards on 46 carries (4.5yds/att)…At Eastern Michigan in 2011, White ran for 596 yards and five TD's, posting a career-high 161 yards against Akron and another 156 yards versus Central Michigan…WR Obadiah Dykes paces the Dragon receiving corps with 20 receptions for 233 yards and one TD…In 2011, Dykes was voted Honorable Mention All-GLIAC after hauling in 64 catches for 547 yards and five TDs…DL Joseph Collard, a 2011 Honorable Mention All-GLIAC selection, leads the Dragons with 29 tackles…LB Mike Virgin was also named Honorable Mention All-GLIAC last fall and has registered 27 tackles so far this year with one tackle for loss…In addition to posting 10 tackles, and picking off two passes through the Dragons first four games, DB Logan Snell also blocked a punt and returned it 40 yards for a TD in last week's contest against Northwood.
