Pioneers Ousted From OIC Tourney With 5-0 Loss To Cedarville

Sophomore Joss Celuch (above), who teamed with Nate Davis at #1 doubles, narrowly lost to their Cedarville opponents by the score of 8-6. Malone lost the match to the Yellow Jackets 5-0.

The Malone University men's tennis team was eliminated from the four-team Ohio Independent Championships tournament in first-round action on Thursday as the #3 seeded Pioneers lost a 5-0 decision to top-seeded Cedarville University.  With the loss, Malone closed out the year with a 1-16 overall record while Cedarville improved to 10-13 overall.

Although Malone did not earn a win in the event, the #1 doubles team of Nate Davis and Joss Celuch battled their opponents right down to wire, but dropped a close 8-6 decision.
