Men's Tennis Falls 9-0 To Roberts Wesleyan In Regular-Season Finale

Junior Nate Davis, playing at #1 singles, came the closest to victory for Malone on Friday against Roberts Wesleyan as he was edged by his opponent 6-7, 6-7. Malone lost its final regular-season match 9-0.


Competing in its final regular-season match of the 2011-2012 campaign, the Malone University men's tennis team lost a home contest to Roberts Wesleyan (NY) College by the score of 9-0 at the Harvard Courts in Canton on Friday night.  The match was originally scheduled for Saturday morning but was moved up a day due to rain in the forecast for Saturday.

With the loss, Malone closed out the regular season with a 1-15 record while Roberts Wesleyan improved to 12-6 on the year.

Although the Pioneers did not win a set in the contest, Malone's #1 singles player Nate Davis came the closest to snatching a victory as he lost a hard-fought 6-7, 6-7 battle.

Malone will compete in the Ohio Independent Championships tournament , hosted by Cedarville University, next Thursday and Friday (April 26-27).
