Women's Golf Finishes Second At Ohio Independent Championships; Maggie Reiman Places Runner-Up Individually

Freshman Maggie Reiman finished in the runner-spot individually with a two-day score of 168 (79-89) at the Ohio Independent Championships on Monday and Tuesday. She led Malone to a second-place finish among a five-team field.


Results

The Malone University women's golf team closed out its 2012 spring season on Tuesday by earning a second-place finish among five teams at the two-day Ohio Independent Championships.  At the par-72, 6028 yard Apple Valley Golf Course in Howard, Ohio, the Pioneers posted their runner-up finish with a score of 732 (365-367) as Walsh University took the team title at 680 (345-335).

Malone's Maggie Reiman, who was leading the overall 26-golfer field after her first round of 79 on Monday, finished in the overall runner-up spot with a total two-day score of 168 (79-89).

Urbana University placed third at 777 (389-388), Ursuline College was fourth at 820 (406-414) and Notre Dame (OH) College rounded out the five-team field with a score of 881 (456-425).

Following Reiman's second-place score of 168, Natalie Reddaway finished second for the Pioneers and eighth overall at 186 (94-92) while Heather Evanich was right behind in a tie for ninth at 187 (97-90).  Abby Froman tied for 13th and finished with a score of 195 (95-100) while Alicia Kindig tallied a 207 (111-96) to finish 19th.  In addition, Katlynn Stoll competed as an individual at the event and carded a score of 230 (116-114).
