Men's Tennis Suffers 9-0 Home Loss To Walsh

Although junior Alex Steinmetz lost at #2 singles in Malone's 9-0 loss to Walsh, he did pick up seven individual game wins in a hard-fought 6-3, 6-4 loss. Steinmetz and teammate Brett Krejci also lost a close 8-5 match at #2 doubles.


The Malone University men's tennis team lost a home match to Walsh University by the score of 9-0 at the Harvard Courts in Canton on Thursday morning.   With the loss, the Pioneers fell to 1-12 on the season while the Cavaliers improved to 13-4 overall.

Even though Malone did not pick up a win in the 9-0 loss, #1 singles player Nate Davis and #2 singles player Alex Steinmetz turned in strong efforts in their 6-3, 6-3 and 6-3, 6-4 losses, respectively.  In addition, the #2 and #3 Pioneer doubles teams gave solid performances in their respective 8-5 and 8-4 losses.
