Men's Tennis Posts First Win Of Season With 5-4 Victory Against St. John Fisher (NY) At Hilton Head Island

Sophomore Joss Celuch earned a #3 singles win and also teamed with Nate Davis for a #1 doubles victory as Malone posted a 5-4 win (its first of the season) against St. John Fisher (NY) College on Wednesday.


The Malone University men's tennis team captured its first victory of the 2011-12 season with a 5-4 win over St. John Fisher (NY) College on Wednesday during the team's spring break trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.  With the victory, Malone improved to 1-9 overall while St. John Fisher fell to 1-6 on the year.

Each of the Pioneers' victories came in straight sets as the top of the Malone singles order, #1 Nate Davis, #2 Alex Steinmetz and #3 Joss Celuch, all pocketed wins while the #1 doubles team of Davis and Celuch along with the #2 doubles unit of Steinmetz and Brett Krejci earned victories.
