Final Results
The Malone University women's golf team posted a sixth-place finish among a 14-team field at the Capital University Purple & White Invitational on Saturday. The Pioneers were in sixth place after a day-one score of 371 and maintained that spot with an even better score of 353 on the second and final day of competition at the Westchester Golf Course in Columbus, Ohio.
Bethel (IN) College was the team champion with a two-day score of 637 (326-311) while Otterbein College took the runner-up spot at 671 (347-324). The University of Mt. Union placed third at 677 (339-338), Baldwin-Wallace College came in fourth at 683 (353-330) and Indiana Tech rounded out the top five at 709 (365-344). Malone earned its sixth-place finish with a total score of 724 (371-353).
For Malone,
Natalie Reddaway finished with a team-best final round of 78 and closed with a two-day score of 170 (92-78) while
Maggie Reiman followed with a score of 84 and a tournament tally of 176 (92-84). Among an 84-woman field, Reddaway placed in a tie for 14th overall while Reiman tied for 22nd.
Abby Froman fired a 92 on Saturday and finished at 183 (91-92) while
Heather Evanich carded a 99 in round two for a total score of 195 (96-99). In addition,
Alicia Kindig posted a final round of 102 and a two-day tally of 208 (106-102). The University of Mt. Union's Mary Snode was the tournament medalist with a two-over-par score of 146 (72-74).
Malone will next compete on Monday, April 9th at the Westminster (PA) College Invitational with a 12:00 p.m. scheduled start time.
