Game One Recap
Left-handed starting pitcher Alex Haines worked six solid innings to lead Malone to the 8-1 triumph in the opener.  Haines surrendered just one hit through the first five frames before working around a bases-loaded jam in the sixth.  The junior struck out seven and picked up his first win of the year (1-3), allowing just the one run on four total hits.

The Pioneers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as first baseman Matt Anderson ripped a one-out double and then later crossed the plate on an RBI single by catcher Bob Suitca.

Malone then tacked on two more runs in the top of the third.  Designated hitter T.J. Rosenberg got things started with a triple.  Third baseman Frank Dufour then stepped to the plate and smacked an RBI double before coming home to score later in the inning on a wild pitch.

The visitors put the game out of reach in the fifth, scoring five times to make the score 8-0.  Three walks and a hit-by-pitch helped get the big inning started.  Shortstop Joe Goddard then drove in a pair with a one-out, bases-loaded single.

The Harriers strung together three straight two-out base hits to get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth.  A walk then loaded the bases, but Haines escaped trouble with his seventh strikeout of the contest.

Suitca led the way for the Malone offense, going 3-for-4 with a double and one run scored from the clean-up spot.

Game Two Recap
The Pioneers continued their huge offensive weekend in Saturday's finale, racking up 12 runs and 16 base hits.  Malone scored in every inning but the second.

Just like in Saturday's first game, Suitca opened the scoring with an RBI single in the top of the first.

Miami-Hamilton tied things up with a run in the bottom of the second, but Goddard quickly answered back for the Pioneers in the top of the third, cranking a two-run homer.

The Harriers cut the deficit to 3-2 in the bottom of the third but that was as close as Miami-Hamilton would get as the visitors tacked on multiple runs in innings three through seven.

12 different Pioneers registered base hits in the contest, led by leftfielder Sam Craciun, who went 3-for-3 with a stolen base, two runs scored and two RBI's.  Goddard added an RBI single in the fourth to go with his third-inning homer.  Centerfielder Adam Heideman also posted two hits, including an RBI double in the seventh.

Freshman starting pitcher Tyler Whitlach picked up his first career victory (1-2) after tossing the first four innings, surrendering the two runs on six hits with three strikeouts.
