ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Freshman pitcher and infielder
Shane Coblentz has been named Second Team All-Region by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) for his efforts with Malone University baseball in 2026.

The Waynedale, Ohio native helped lead the Pioneers to a 24-24 overall record in his first year with the program. Coblentz was selected under the banner of a utility pitcher after he was entered in 45 total games (41 starts) and 16 appearances on the mound (eight starts).

At the plate, the freshman had a .326 batting average and .894 OPS. He tallied 36 runs scored, 36 RBIs and led Malone with 16 doubles and drew a team-high 30 walks. Coblentz was efficient on the basepaths after he was 17-for-18 on his stolen base attempts.

As a pitcher, Coblentz had an ERA of 4.83 with a 6-4 record (most pitching wins on the team), four complete games and one shutout. He pitched the second-most innings on the team at 63.1 for the year and was tied for the most strikeouts on the pitching staff at 59.
