The Cavaliers hold an 11-6 advantage in the annual battle for the John Bankert-Dick Gallagher Memorial Trophy. Although the Pioneers had won three straight meetings from 2006-2008, Walsh has posted victories each of the last three years, including a 35-10 triumph last season.

Malone –
Eric Hehman is in his third season as the Pioneers' head coach and has tallied an 8-17 record at Malone. Prior to arriving in Canton, Hehman spent the previous five years as the head coach at NCAA Division III Greenville (IL) College where he led the Panthers to a 28-22 record and a berth in the 2009 NCCAA Victory Bowl.
Walsh –
Jim Dennison is in his 18th season at Walsh and has guided the Cavaliers to a 117-73 mark since the program began play in 1995. Overall, Dennison has compiled a 197-135-2 record in 31 seasons of coaching college football, having spent 13 seasons at the University of Akron prior to starting the Walsh football program.

Malone Notes – The Pioneers registered their first GLIAC win this past Saturday with a thrilling 33-27 overtime victory at home against Tiffin University…After each team tallied field goals on its first possession of the extra period, Malone blocked a Dragon field-goal try on the visitors' second overtime possession…A 12-yard TD run by RB
Malik Felton then sealed the win for the Pioneers…Malone racked up 479 total yards on Saturday, marking the program's highest offensive output since posting 527 yards in its 2010 season finale against Olivet Nazarene (IL) University…Malone currently ranks fourth among the GLIAC's 16 schools on third down, having converted 29 of 60 (48.3%) attempts…the Pioneers have scored points on all seven of their trips inside the red zone this year.
Malone players to watch: Felton piled up a career-high 130 rushing yards and three TD's in Saturday's game (two rushing, one receiving)…On the year, Felton has gained 222 rushing yards on 44 carries (4.3 average) with four rushing TD's…He has also caught six passes for 40 yards and one score…QB

Demarco Donaldson ranks second in the GLIAC with an average of 11.8 tackles per game…Donaldson has also broken up three passes and forced a fumble.
Walsh Notes – The Cavaliers opened up their 2012 campaign with a 40-10 road win over Kentucky Wesleyan College…However, Walsh has since lost its first four GLIAC contests, most recently falling on the road to Ohio Dominican University by a final score of 24-13…Against ODU on Saturday, a 40-yard Cavalier touchdown pass pulled Walsh to within 17-13 late in the third quarter…That was as close as the visitors would get, though, as ODU added a fourth-quarter TD to put the game out of reach… The Cavaliers currently rank sixth in the conference in total defense, allowing only 324.8 yards per contest…Walsh's pass defense has been particularly stout as the squad ranks third in the GLIAC, yielding just 151.2 yards through the air per game.
Walsh players to watch: WR Anthony Schrock has registered 22 of the Cavaliers' 45 receptions on the season for 472 yards (21.5 average) and three scores…Last week against Ohio Dominican, Schrock set the Walsh school record for receiving yards in a game with 187 yards on seven catches…He currently ranks third in the GLIAC, averaging 94.4 receiving yards per outing…RB Toba Olarewaju has rushed for 367 yards on 104 carries (3.5 average) with three TD's…Olarewaju is also a threat on special teams as he returned a kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown against Kentucky Wesleyan…Olarewaju currently ranks fourth in the GLIAC in all-purpose yards (148.2 yards per game) and third in kickoff return average (30.6 yards per attempt)… QB Jack Dawson has completed 35 of 78 passes (44.9%) for 586 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions… DB Sir Taylor racked up 18 tackles last week at ODU and currently ranks third in the conference with an average of 11.0 stops per game (55 tackles in five games)…Taylor has also tallied one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and a pass break-up…DL Ryan Fehrenbach has made 23 tackles, including six tackles for loss…Fehrenbach's four sacks tie him with Malone's
