This will be the first ever meeting between the two squads as Concordia is in its first year of intercollegiate football.

Coaches:
Malone – Eric Hehman is in his second season as the Pioneers' head coach, having led Malone to a 5-9 overall mark since taking over the reins of the program in 2010. Prior to arriving at Malone, Hehman had spent the previous five years as the head coach at NCAA Division III Greenville (IL) College where he led the Panthers to a 28-22 record and a berth in the 2009 NCCAA Victory Bowl.
Concordia – Nathan Robbins is in his first season of building the Cardinal football program. Before becoming Concordia's head coach, Robbins had served as the defensive coordinator at Cleveland Lutheran West High School and as the head coach at Dallas Lutheran High School.

Malone Notes – The Pioneers will look to bounce back from last Saturday's tough 56-0 home loss to NAIA #3 Marian (IN) University….Malone's first three games had been decided by six points or less before the Knights put Saturday's contest away in the early going …Despite Saturday's shutout, the Pioneers rank ninth out of the MSFA's 19 teams in scoring offense with an average of 23.0 points per game….Malone also ranks ninth in the MSFA in total offense with an average of 318.5 yards per outing.

Malone players to watch: WR Justin McLean has provided a big spark for the Pioneers in 2011 as he ranks third in the MSFA in all-purpose yardage with an average of 164.8 yards per game… So far this season, McLean has provided three scoring plays of 90 yards or more, including a 94-yard TD reception and kickoff returns of 99 and 90 yards…In all, McLean has posted 15 catches on the year for 283 yards (18.9 average) and returned 12 kickoffs for 352 yards (29.3 average)…RB Daryon Mosley has tallied 224 rushing yards on 40 carries (5.6 average) with two scores …RB Emil Chambliss has gained 189 rushing yards on 48 attempts, with one TD catch and three TD runs…Freshman QB Will Szpor has completed 74 of 122 pass attempts for 707 yards and four touchdowns…DB Demarco Donaldson posted a career-high 18 total tackles last week against Marian and currently paces the Pioneer defense with 36 tackles on the season…Donaldson has also picked off a pass, recovered a fumble, and blocked a field goal…LB Antonio Scassa has registered 34 total tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack…Fellow LB Matt Vick has made 25 total tackles…LB Brandon Commodore follows closely with 24 tackles, including 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble….DB Glen Raphael has posted 16 tackles, made two interceptions and defended or broken up eight passes through the first four week weeks.

Concordia Notes – The Cardinals have dropped their first four games in the program's inaugural season…Concordia just missed a win in week two as its second-half comeback fell just short in a 13-10 loss at Trinity International (IL) University…Last week, the Cardinals suffered a tough 69-0 defeat at home to the University of Saint Francis (IN), the squad ranked at #2 in the most recent NAIA National Poll….Against some tough competition, Concordia has managed to score just one offensive TD in its first four games with an average of 118.8 total yards per outing…However, the Cardinal defense has made some big plays through the first four weeks, forcing a total of ten turnovers (four fumbles, six interceptions).

Concordia players to watch: QB Scott Galland has completed 31 of 63 passes so far this season for 196 yards and one TD… RB's Josh Facteau and Caleb Mims have each rushed for 46 yards, Facteau on 16 carries and Mims on 17 attempts…WR Matt VanderVliet has posted 11 catches for 116 yards and one score…On defense, LB Mason Williams has posted a team-high 33 total tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery…DE Kelechukwu Ibe leads the MSFA with 10.5 tackles for loss…Ibe has totaled 31 tackles on the year with three sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery…DB Rashad Smith has made 24 total tackles with an interception and two pass break-ups…DB Matt Strzalkowski has snagged two interceptions with four pass break-ups…LB George Andary picked off a pass and returned it 32 yards for a TD against Quincy (IL) University in week three.
