Competing in its next-to-last match of the 2011 season, the Malone University men's tennis team lost a home contest to the University of Northwestern Ohio by the score of 9-0 on Thursday. With the loss, Malone fell to 1-12 overall (remaining at 0-3 in the AMC) while UNOH improved to 12-10 on the season.
While no Pioneer student-athlete earned a win,
Alex Steinmetz and
Joss Celuch, playing at #2 doubles, came the closest losing 8-6. In addition,
Nathan Davis, competing at #1 singles, battled to a tough 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 loss.
