Pioneer Women's Golf Takes Third Among Five-Team Field At All-Ohio Independent Championships

Freshman Maggie Reiman paced the team again on day two of the All-Ohio Independent Championships with a round of 78 to finish fourth individually overall.

The Malone University women's golf team collected a third-place finish, among a five-team field, at the two-day All-Ohio Independent Championships at the Raintree Country Club on Thursday. On day two, Malone posted the second-best score of the day with a 339 to finish at 711 overall (372-339). Walsh University won the event with a score of 647 (321-326) while Urbana University took second at 708 (361-347). Ursuline College placed fourth at 807 (404-403) and Notre Dame College came in fifth at 896 (447-449).

For Malone, freshman Maggie Reiman continued to pace the squad as she fired a blistering and personal collegiate-best round of 78 on day two, which was the second-best round on the second day among the 32 golfers participating in the event. Reiman notched a 163 total (85-78) for the tournament and finished in a tie for fourth place overall.

Natalie Reddaway also carded an outstanding second round of 80 and finished at 168 (88-80), tying for eight overall. Abby Froman tallied a 191 (99-92), Heather Evanich improved dramatically from day one to day two with a 198 (109-89), and Alicia Kindig finished at 207 (100-107).

Malone will next compete at the Phipps Memorial Tournament on Wednesday, October 12th at the Congress Lake Country Club in Hartville, Ohio.
