In 10 all-time meetings between the Pioneers and Cougars, each squad has posted five victories. Saint Xavier has won three out of the last four contests, including a convincing 55-16 triumph at Fawcett Stadium last season.

Malone –
Eric Hehman is in his second season as the Pioneers' head coach, having led Malone to a 6-9 overall mark since taking over the reins of the program in 2010. Prior to arriving at Malone, Hehman had spent the previous five years as the head coach at NCAA Division III Greenville (IL) College where he led the Panthers to a 28-22 record and a berth in the 2009 NCCAA Victory Bowl.
Saint Xavier –
Mike Feminis is in his 13th season as the head coach of the Cougar football program. Since arriving at SXU in 1999, Feminis has led the Cougars to a 107-40 overall record, six NAIA postseason appearances, and outright MSFA Mideast League Titles in 2009 & 2010. Last season, he was voted the MSFA Mideast Coach of the Year after guiding his squad to a 13-1 mark as SXU's only loss came in the NAIA semifinals to eventual national champion Carroll (MT) College.

Malone Notes – For the second time in three weeks, the Pioneers will welcome a team to Fawcett Stadium that is ranked among the Top 3 in the NAIA National Poll…Malone bounced back from a tough shutout loss to NAIA #3 Marian (IN) University on Sept. 24th by picking up a 27-0 road win last Saturday at Concordia (MI) University…Malone's defense limited the Cardinals to 158 total yards in last week's shutout…The unit will look to continue its strong play this Saturday against the Cougars' potent offensive attack …The Pioneers rank ninth out of the MSFA's 19 teams in passing offense with an average of 192.0 yards per game….Malone has been efficient in the red zone this year, notching six touchdowns and one field goal on eight trips inside its opponents' 20-yard line.

Justin McLean has been a consistent playmaker for the Pioneers in 2011 as leads the MSFA in all-purpose yardage with an average of 170.2 yards per game… So far this season, McLean has provided four scoring plays of 80 yards or more, including TD receptions of 94 and 81 yards and kickoff returns for touchdowns of 99 and 90 yards…In all, McLean has posted 19 catches on the year for 374 yards (19.7 average), ran back 13 kickoffs for 372 yards (28.6 average) and returned six punts for 99 yards (16.5 average)…RB
Daryon Mosley has tallied 324 rushing yards on 58 carries (5.6 average) to go with 10 pass receptions for 102 yards and three scores (two rushing, one receiving)…RB
Emil Chambliss has gained 189 rushing yards on 48 attempts, with one TD catch and three TD runs…Freshman QB
Will Szpor has completed 93 of 158 pass attempts (58.9%) for 924 yards and six touchdowns… LB
Antonio Scassa has registered a team-high 41 total tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack…DB

Saint Xavier Notes – The Cougars have picked up right where they left off in 2010, a season in which they won13 games and advanced all the way to the semifinals of the NAIA playoffs before falling to eventual national champion Carroll (MT) College…SXU has won its first five games by an average margin of 24 points…Last week, Saint Xavier recovered from an early 10-0 deficit to pick up a hard-fought 42-31 victory at the University of Saint Francis (IN), a squad which at that time was ranked at No. 2 in the NAIA National Poll (since dropped to No. 7)…The Cougars currently lead the MSFA in passing offense (329.4 yards per game) and rank second in scoring (47.0 points per game), total offense (496.0 yards per outing) and first downs (128 total).
Saint Xavier players to watch: QB Jimmy Coy was named the NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 338 yards and three TD's in last week's big win at Saint Francis…On the season, Coy has completed 118 of 167 pass attempts (70.7%) for 1464 yards and 13 touchdowns…Coy has also picked up 151 rushing yards with one rushing TD…He currently leads the MSFA in passing average (292.8 yards) and total offense (323.0 yards per contest)…WR Shane Zackery has been Coy's favorite target as he has pulled in 34 receptions for 505 yards and five TD's…Zackery leads the MSFA in receptions and ranks second in yards per game (101.0)…WR Corey Wennmacher is also having a big year, having pulled in 24 catches for 359 yards and five TD's…RB Nick Pesek has picked up 369 rushing yards on 64 attempts (5.8 average) while also hauling in 17 catches for 166 yards and seven TD's (six rushing, one receiving)….K Tom Lynch was named the NAIA National Special Teams Player of the Week after converting on five of his six field goals last week at USF, including attempts from 50 and 48 yards…On the season, Lynch has split the uprights on nine of 10 field goals and all 27 of his PATs….DB Jacob Ghinazzi was named the MSFA Mideast Defensive Player of the Week after posting seven tackles and two crucial second-half interceptions in last week's win over Saint Francis…So far this year, Ghinazzi has registered 28 total tackles and three interceptions…LB Mike Bushnell paces the team with 31 total tackles, including seven tackles for loss… DL Michael Prosser has notched 27 tackles, including six tackles for loss and two sacks…Prosser has also picked off a pass and blocked two kicks.
