Malone – Eric Hehman is in his first season as the Pioneers' head coach after spending the last five years as the head coach at NCAA Division III Greenville (IL) College. Overall, Hehman tallied a 28-22 record at Greenville, leading the Panthers to a 7-3 record in 2009 and a berth in the NCCAA Victory Bowl.

Malone Notes
The Pioneers return from their bye week looking to carry over some of the momentum they gained from their last contest, a 69-0 rout of NCAA Division III Anna Maria (MA) College on September 18th…Malone dominated on the ground against the AMCATS as the squad set new single-game records for rushing yards (444) and rushing touchdowns (9)…Following this record-setting performance, the Pioneers rank second in the 16-team MSFA (fourth overall in the NAIA) in rushing offense with an average of 278.3 yards per game.

Malone players to watch
Through three games this year, RB Markus McFolling has piled up 260 rushing yards on just 38 attempts (6.8 average) with three touchdowns…RB Justin James and Slot Back Ryan Barnett have also contributed to the Pioneer ground game as James has totaled 138 yards and three TD's this year while Barnett posted 130 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just nine carries against Anna Maria…QB Mike Karls completed all four of his pass attempts in the Pioneers' blowout win over the AMCATS, including a 17-yard TD pass to TE Tom Ferron…Karls is the second-leading rusher on the team with 142 yards on 18 attempts (7.9 average), including a long run of 45 yards…WR Matt Kiel has pulled in six catches for 94 yards and one score through the Pioneers' first three contests…On the defensive side of the ball, LB Antonio Scassa leads the squad with 26 total tackles, including two tackles for loss and a sack…Scassa has also forced a fumble and intercepted a pass…DB Isaiah Wyatt has made 22 total tackles on the year and broken up one pass..LB Matt Vick follows with 19 tackles and one interception while DL Frank McCormick has notched 18 total tackles with four tackles for loss and a team-high 2.5 sacks.

St. Francis Notes
The Cougars opened MSFA Mideast League play last week with a 28-25 road victory over Marian (IN) University, which was at that time ranked 13th in the NAIA National Poll (Marian is now ranked 15th) …NAIA No. 9 St. Francis led 28-10 at halftime and then held on for the three-point win despite being shutout over the final 30 minutes…The Cougars currently lead the MSFA (rank fourth overall in the NAIA) in total offense, having racked up an average of 497.3 yards per game.

Through the Cougars first three games, QB Shaine Tierney has completed 45 of 66 pass attempts (68.2%) for 589 yards with three touchdowns and one interception…Tierney, last week's MSFA Mideast League Offensive Player of the Week, is also a threat to run as he has gained 101 rushing yards on 26 attempts with two rushing touchdowns…RB Frank Wolfe has gained 392 rushing yards on 53 attempts (7.4 average) with two touchdowns…Wolfe's average of 130.7 yards per contest currently ranks second in the MSFA and seventh overall in the NAIA…WR Austin Coleman has caught nine passes for 217 yards and three scores through three games…WR Aaron Knight has pulled in 10 passes for 78 yards…WR Jared Clodfelter has posted 10 catches for 165 yards and one TD …LB Devron Robinson paces the defense with 20 total tackles…DB Ross Bauman follows with 15 tackles and one interception…LB's Brody Kalbaugh and Solomon Grimes have each made 13 stops apiece.
