The Malone University women's basketball team rolled to a convincing 84-57 American Mideast Conference victory over Wilberforce University on Saturday afternoon at Osborne Hall as the squad drained 23 of 24 free throws and shot a season-best 54.7% from the field. The Pioneers dominated the Bulldogs inside, outscoring Wilberforce 42-24 in the paint while notching a 52-28 advantage in total rebounds. Forward
Alison Schloz posted 18 of her career-high 24 points in the opening stanza to help Malone open up a 36-26 halftime advantage. The Pioneers then continued to pour it on over the final 20 minutes, outscoring the Bulldogs by a 48-31 margin en route to the 27-point triumph. Malone improved to 3-6 overall and 1-1 in the AMC with the win while Wilberforce dropped to 1-12 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
In addition to posting their best field-goal percentage of the year on Saturday, the Pioneers also tallied season highs for points, field goals made, free-throw percentage (.958), assists (20), and blocked shots (four). The Bulldogs forced 19 Malone turnovers, but struggled to get their offense on track, hitting just 21 of 73 (28.8%) shots from the floor, five of 30 (16.7%) three-pointers and 10 of 15 (66.7%) free throws.
Schloz posted her career-best point total on nine of 14 shooting from the field and six of six accuracy from the foul line. The 6'2” senior also pulled down 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Guard

Forward Tiara Roberts led the way for Wilberforce with 17 points, four rebounds and three assists.
The Pioneers will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Vienna, West Virginia for a 7:00 p.m. contest against NCAA Division II Ohio Valley University.
