Malone Cross Country Makes Additions to Roster for 2026

CANTON, Ohio - Head Coach Zach Fresenko and the Malone University men's and women's cross country teams have announced ten total additions to the team roster for the 2026 season. The Pioneers are coming off a sweep of the NCCAA Championships in 2025.
 
Michael Maynard of Mentor High School enters the program fresh off an outstanding performance at the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division I State Track Championships, where he clocked a personal-best time of 1:54.37 in the 800-meter race. An OHSAA Division I State Cross Country qualifier, Maynard carries a 5K cross country personal record of 15:51.60. His impressive range on the track is further highlighted by personal records of 4:24.19 in the 1600-meter and 9:56.21 in the 3200-meter events. 
 
Ryan Baker of Heath High School joins the Pioneers as a multi-time OHSAA Division III State Cross Country qualifier with a 5K personal best of 16:08.12. Baker boasts an excellent aerobic engine and track speed, holding personal records of 1:58.87 in the 800-meter, 4:26.93 in the 1600-meter, and an elite 9:37.87 in the 3200-meter races.
 
Nolan Landgrebe of Tinley Park High School expands Malone's roster into Illinois as an Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 2A Sectional Cross Country Qualifier. Landgrebe showcases exceptional strength over standard cross country distances, anchoring his profile with a 3-mile personal record of 15:47.60. On the track, the Illinois state qualifier has recorded standout personal bests of 4:29.68 in the mile and 9:51.55 in the 3200-meter.
 
Jayden Simonson of Massillon Perry High School keeps local Stark County talent at home. He enters Malone University with a strong cross country 5K personal record of 16:03.00. Simonson provides a strong injection of middle-distance speed to the Pioneer training group, highlighting his senior track campaign with a sharp personal best of 2:01.91 in the 800-meter.
 
Ben Dick of Massillon Jackson High School rounds out the local men's recruiting class from the competitive Federal League. Dick comes to the Pioneers with a cross country 5K personal best of 18:10.00. On the track, he has shown continuous endurance progression throughout his high school career, establishing updated personal records of 4:58.86 in the 1600-meter and 11:05.84 in the 3200-meter. 
 
Elena Price of Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School enters the women's program as a premier middle-distance talent following a career that featured four consecutive appearances at the OHSAA State Track Championships. Price holds an elite personal record of 2:15.52 in the 800-meter. She displays deep range across the distance events, carrying updated personal bests of 5:19.05 in the 1600-meter, 12:01.18 in the 3200-meter, and a cross country 5K personal best of 19:18.5.
 
Karrah Singleton of Meadowbrook High Schhol joins the Pioneers as a highly decorated distance addition and an OHSAA State Cross Country Championship individual qualifier. Singleton infuses excellent range into the roster, carrying a cross country 5K personal record of 19:35.34. On the track, her endurance and speed are firmly established with career bests of 2:21.78 in the 800-meter, 5:24.74 in the 1600-meter, and 11:58.17 in the 3200-meter. 
 
Grace McPherson of Claymont High Schhol arrives in Canton as an official OHSAA Division III State Cross Country Championships qualifier, where she competed on the sport's biggest stage. McPherson established a sharp cross country 5K personal record of 20:08.31 at the regional meet. On the track, her endurance profile is anchored by a competitive 3200-meter personal best of 12:35.51.
 
Katlyn Doughty of New Philadelphia High School bolsters the distance group with an official high school 5K cross country personal record of 21:17.11. On the track, she complements her cross country baseline with a personal best of 5:46.81 in the 1600-meter run. 
 
Mara Miller of Salineville Southern High School provides reliable distance depth to the incoming class after a highly consistent high school career. Miller has proven her steady engine across both surfaces, holding a cross country 5K personal record of 21:34.20. Her tracking stats reflect strong aerobic capacity, highlighted by official personal records of 5:57.10 in the 1600-meter and 12:43.04 in the 3200-meter.
