INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Malone University women's basketball team was selected as an at-large team to compete in the 2025-26 NCCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship. The Pioneers will travel to Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan for the Midwest Regional. It is the third NCAA Championship appearance in program history, the others coming in 2016-17 and 2022-23.

Malone will square-off with Northwood University, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) regular season and tournament champions. The two institutions have met three times already this season as conference opponents and faced one another in their most recent game, the G-MAC Tournament Championship Final on March 7. The Timberwolves were victorious on their home floor, 64-53 and Northwood has won 16 in a row.

#2 Grand Valley State is the regional host after they won their fifth consecutive Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) crown and will play the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament champions, Maryville University. Wayne State University and #21 Northern Michigan University will be in the 4-5 matchup.
Â
Should the Pioneers be victorious in the First Round, they will play the winner of the #16 Ferris State University and #25 University of Missouri-St. Louis game.
