Brinn Hunt and
Erin Kaufman were recognized for their postseason performances.
The heroics of Hunt in the G-MAC Semifinal Round helped propel the team to the Championship Final. The Perrysburg, Ohio native nailed two free throws with five seconds remaining to defeat the University of Findlay 57-56. The senior led the Pioneers with 17 points in that game and netted 12 points in the team's loss to Northwood University. Hunt made all three tries from distance that were made by Malone. She averaged 11.0 points per game across the three contests.
Kaufman led the team in scoring at 18.0 points per game in the G-MAC Tournament as well as 7.7 rebounds per game. She scored 23 points to lead the team to victory over Kentucky Wesleyan College in the Quarterfinal Round. The Glandorf, Ohio native played 100 minutes across the three contests (33 minutes per game) and shot 52.4% (22-of-42) from the field. During the weekend, Kaufman reached 1,000 career rebounds, the third Malone women's basketball player in program history to reach that milestone.
The Pioneers will face Northwood University in a rematch of the G-MAC Championship Final in the First Round of the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship on Friday, March 13. Tip-off is set for 12:00 P.M.
