Week 11 WBCA Poll has Pioneers Listed as Receiving Votes

02/03/26

LILBURN, Ga. - The Malone University women's basketball team is the top team receiving votes in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll. The Pioneers just missed the #25 spot in the national rankings, but received 28 votes.

Grand Valley State University (20-0) and Minnesota State University, Mankato (22-0) are the top two teams in the poll and are the lone remaining undefeated teams left in NCAA Division II women's basketball. The Lakers received all 23 first-place votes in the week 11 poll.

Malone was victorious in their lone game last week against Ashland University 68-65, the team's first win against the Eagles since 2013-14. Meredith Randulic netted a season-high 17 points and pulled down five rebounds to help lead the team to victory. She was 3-of-6 from beyond the three-point arc in the win.

The Pioneers have the second-best scoring offense (71.6) and second-best scoring defense (58.9) in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). Malone is also the second-best rebounding team in the conference at 41.4 boards per game. While limiting opponent rebounds, they also bring down a league-high 14.8 offensive rebounds per game.

The next opponent for the Pioneers is Northwood University, who are currently atop the G-MAC at 16-5 overall and 12-1 in league play. Malone looks for revenge against the Timberwolves after a 73-54 defeat on January 5. The Pioneers will enter play on Thursday, February 5 at 5:30 P.M. with a record of 16-4 and 9-3 in the conference.
