Women's Basketball Third in NCCAA Coaches Poll

02/17/26

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Malone University women's basketball team lost one spot in the NCCAA Coaches Poll. The Pioneers dropped to third behind Campbellsville University (21-5) and Nelson University (20-4).

Malone swept Kentucky Wesleyan College and Thomas More University to move to 19-5 overall this season. The conference wins put them in strong position to secure a top two finish in the league standings. The Pioneers are 12-4 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) action and have won three consecutive contests.

Junior Elena Oliver did not do a bulk of the scoring, but contributed with 11 rebounds in Thursday's win against Kentucky Wesleyan as well as five assists. Oliver averaged 8.5 rebounds per game on the road last week. She tallied one block and one steal in each game as well. Malone is holding opponents to an NCCAA-low 30.7 rebounds per game.
