COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Malone University women's golf team kicked off the Champions of Women's Golf Classic at Champions Golf Course with a first round score of 333. The Pioneers are 11th in a field of 15. Tiffin University leads the pack with a 303 through 18 holes.
 
Addison Burris is the leader for Malone with a score of 81. She ended her day with three consecutive pars. Maria Warner shot an 83 and right behind her was Claire Hostetler at 84. Hostetler wrapped up the back nine with four straight pars and then hit for par after making the turn back to hole one for five in a row.
 
Kaylyn Henson had the lone birdie for the Pioneers en route to an 85. It came on the par-4 hole one. Erin Strouse (87) and Abbigail Jones (90) were the final two members of the scoring team.
 
Play continues on Sunday, September 14 at 9:00 A.M. for the second and final round of the tournament.
