GREENVILLE, S.C. - Malone University and sophomore swimmer Elisha Thompkins has been chosen by the NCCAA to be participants in their 2025 Red Cross Collegiate Leadership Program. Thompkins will be one of two NCCAA representatives of 12 total student-athletes from across the country selected as leaders on their campus.

The American Red Cross has set up this program designed to inspire a passionate and diverse generation of Red Cross volunteer leadership. These student-leaders are offered a rare and unique opportunity to acquire first-hand coaching, mentoring and professional leadership training presented by our senior leaders. The fall of 2025 will mark the first time NCAA institutions are joining this inititative, with Malone University and Drexel University the first NCAA schools in the 2025 cohort. The Pioneers will begin actively recruiting Red Cross blood donors on their campuses starting the fall of 2025.

The program allows student-leaders to give back to their school and their campus communities by becoming a Red Cross ambassador through recruiting blood donors on their college campuses. In addition, they will be given the tools to start a Red Cross Club on campus if there is not one already. This year's leadership summit will take place in Washington D.C.
