CANTON, Ohio - The Malone University swimming & diving teams wrapped up competition at the Great Midwest / Mountain East Swimming & Diving Championship on Friday. The Pioneer men's and women's teams both tallied an eighth-place finish while the University of Findlay cruised to victory on both scoreboards.

Landon Sutter recorded a 10th-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:00.45 in the B-finals. That mark is a personal record and eighth in program history. Elizabeth Lane (53.65 seconds) and Ashtyn Rickel (55.38 seconds) set new personal bests as well and finished 11th and 21st overall in the 100-yard freestyle. Lane's B-final mark is fifth all-time and Rickel is now 9th in Malone history after competing in the C-finals.

Ann-Katherine Burns was in the B-finals in the 200-yard breaststroke and finished 16th overall (2:36.39). Her preliminary time of 2:32.91 is good for 5th in the school record book. Seth McMillen (2:13.38), Lincoln Rickleff (2:20.30) and Leander Stuart (2:23.57) were scoring members in the men's 200-yard breaststroke in 12th, 21st and 22nd.

In the 1650-yard freestyle, both the men's and women's teams had one B-finalist and one C-finalist. Danielle Ketler placed 12th at 19:12.76 and Alleah Daugherty was 19th overall with a time of 19:54.84. The men's side saw Tillman Hawk (18:17.70) and Stuart (18:39.81) score points in 15th and 18th.

The final team member to improve upon a time in the program's record book was Elisha Thompkins. He was 21st overall in the 100-yard freestyle, but his new personal best time of 47.52 seconds from the morning prelims cracks the last spot in the top ten.

The men's 400-yard freestyle relay team of McMillen, Brady Porter, Carter Anderson and Thompkins finished eighth with a time of 3:25.48.

This conference championship event puts a bow on the 2025-26 swimming & diving season for the Pioneers.
