CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Malone University men's and women's track & field programs concluded the Fast Break Athletics Invitational at Lee University. The Pioneer men were 14th of 24 teams and women 12th of 22 squads in attendance. Ashland University's men and Lee's women were the team champions.
Malone had four top-five performances on Saturday.
Me'zel Square-Ward was third in the triple jump at 13.71 meters (44' 1.75") as the best individual finish.
Allea Graves moved up to fourth on the program's all-time list with a time of 57.14 seconds in the 400-meter dash. Graves secured a fourth-place finish, as well as the team of
Brooklyn McIntyre,
Cara Pipitone,
Rebekah Stoneman and Graves in the 4x400-meter relay (4:10.27).
Jaclyn Jundzilo was fifth in the shot put at 11.29 meters (37' 0.50").
Jundzilo also had the best finish outside the top five with a best throw of 33.10 meters (108' 7.00") in the discus, good for seventh.
Wyatt Royster placed ninth in the 3000-meter steeplechase at 9:47.71, while the team of
Alex Swinehart,
Brylan Holland,
Tyler Twining and
Eric Dehmer were ninth as well in the 4x400-meter relay (3:26.78). Just outside the top-ten was
Aiden Mastaso in 11th for his 41.40-meter (135' 10.00") throw in the discus.
Other student-athletes from the track & field squad are taking place in the John Homon Open on Sunday, April 13 at the University of Mount Union.
