Men's Golf Concludes at Doc Spragg Fall Invite

FINDLAY, Ohio - The Malone University men's golf team stumbled a bit on the final round of Tuesday's Doc Spragg Invitational. The Pioneers placed 15th overall with a three-round score of 901 (303-294-304). The University of Missouri-St. Louis and University of Findlay tied for the team lead at 859 and the Oilers won the tiebreaker to claim the team title.
 
Easton Hamrick had the lowest total score for Malone at 222 (75-72-75) and finished in a tie for 39th. He had one birdie and 13 pars in a very consistent third round. Carter Miller was next for the Pioneers with a score of 226 (76-73-77). He tied for the team lead with two birdies in the third round.
 
Ryan Yoder was one stroke back of Miller at 227 (76-74-77) and birdied the first hole at Findlay Country Club. Alfie Cracker had the only eagle for Malone in the tournament on the par-5 15th hole and finished the event with a two-day total of 230 (76-75-79). Jaxon Rinkes tied with Hamrick for the lowest score in round three, but concluded the tournament at 232 (76-81-75).
 
The Pioneers will begin the NCCAA Men's Golf Championship at the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida on Monday, October 20.
