Malone Nationally-Ranked in D2CSC Media Poll

01/21/25

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – For the first time in the 2024-25 season, the Malone University women's basketball team is nationally ranked. The Pioneers are 23rd in the most recent Division II College Sport Communicators (D2CSC) Media Poll. Malone is also receiving votes in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Coaches Poll.

The women's basketball team is rolling right now on a nine-game winning streak after the team picked up wins against Cedarville University and Thomas More University last week. The Pioneers are atop the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) standings with an 8-0 record and are 14-2 overall.

#11 Ashland University is the only other G-MAC team mentioned in the poll. Grand Valley State University is ranked number one with 13-of-15 first-place votes and a 17-1 overall record. Those two teams are the only ones ahead of Malone in the Midwest Regional Rankings.

The team's two losses on the year have come against #5 Seton Hill University and Fairmont State University, who were nationally-ranked at the time they played each other and are currently receiving votes.

The Pioneers look to continue their winning ways against Walsh University on January 23. The road game tips off at 5:30 P.M. with a men's basketball contest to follow.
