Pioneers Display Consistency at William Beall Classic

FINDLAY, Ohio – The Malone University women's golf team competed in the William Beall Classic on Monday afternoon and through 36 holes, the Pioneers are 17th in a stacked field with some nationally-ranked teams. The team was able to match their scores in rounds one and two at 640 (320-320). The host University of Findlay Oilers are atop the leaderboard through two rounds.
 
Sophomore Maria Warner led the way with a 77 in both the first and second rounds for a total of 154 and is tied for 37th. She hit a birdie on the par-3 17th hole and went 1-over on the front nine with eight pars. In round two, Warner hit for birdie on another par-3, this time the 2nd hole at Findlay Country Club.
 
Freshman Addison Burris (79-77) and junior Erin Strouse (78-78) both turned in a score of 156 on Monday. Burris had nothing more than a bogey in round one and recorded a pair of birdies in her second round. Strouse had four total birdies with one in the first round and three in the second.
 
Junior Savanna Porter recorded a 174 (86-88) and freshman Claire Hostetler a 180 (89-91). Porter hit for birdie on the par-5 4th hole in the second round.
 
Play concludes in northwest Ohio beginning at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 1.
