HONG KONG, China – Freshman
Abbey Burns of the Malone University women's lacrosse team has been selected to compete in the 2024 Women's Lacrosse U20 Championship. The event will take place in Hong Kong, China and Mong Kok Stadium from August 15-24.
Burns will represent her home country of Australia at the event. The freshman midfielder led the team in scoring last spring with 31 goals in 13 games played. Burns also tallied eight assists, 25 ground balls, 18 caused turnovers and 34 draw controls. She is studying exercise science.

Michael Jewell. "Her hard work and determination has paid off not only as a leading member of Malone University women's lacrosse, but a key player on the Australian World Cup team. I know she is proud to represent Australia as she also represents our Malone community. We will be supporting and praying for her as she travels and she competes on the world stage."
"I am so grateful to represent my country, Australia, at this competition," Burns mentioned prior to competition. "I hope to make Malone proud and am thankful for all the support I have."
