Owensboro, KY-- The Malone University men's golf team competed at the 2024 Great Midwest Championship Tournament this week.
After a solid start, the Pioneers found themselves tied for 8th place at the end of day one, boasting a team score of 299. Determined to climb the leaderboard, they tightened their game and improved by 2 strokes in round two, edging closer to the top contenders.
Unfortunately, the Malone ended with an overall 54-hole team score of 917 which was good enough for 9th place.
Individually the Pioneers were led by
Gunnar McCollins who finished tied for third with a score of -2 and earned a spot on the Great Midwest All-Conference team.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Malone will now wait for news regarding a potential at large birth to the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship. The Pioneers currently are ranked 11th in the Midwest Region.
