Competition Concludes at Malone Invitational

CANTON, Ohio -- The Malone University swimming & diving programs wrapped up competition at the Malone Invitational on Saturday evening. The women brought home eight place while the men finished tenth. 

On the final day, the women had a slew of strong performances. Danielle Ketler finished 5th in the 1650 yard free with a time of 18:49.28. Sydney Fleming followed suit with a 4th place finish in the 200 yard back as she swam a 2:12.80. In the 100 yard free, Lauryn Ebersole raced to a final time of 56.28 which was good for 14th place. Molly Maloy brought home 14th place in the 200 yard fly after a final swim of 2:38.71.

For the men, several strong swims highlighted their final day. Seth McMillen took 11th in the 200 yard breast with at swim of 2:16.90. Elisha Thompkins made the B final in the 100 yard free and finished 14th with a time of 48.56. 

Both sides brought home numerous personal bests over the three-day event. 

On the women's side, Ketler had all around bests as she dominated in the 200 yard free, 500 yard free, 1000 yard free, and 1650 yard free. Ebersole had bests in the 50 and 200 yard freestyles. Kassidy Cannon rounded out the women's personal bests with her swims in the 50 yard free, 100 yard free, and 50 yard back. 

For the men, Thompkins recorded personal bests in the 100 yard free, 200 yard free, and 100 yard fly. McMillen had his career bests in the 50 yard free, 50 yard breast, and 200 yard breast. Lincoln Rickleff had his bests in the 200 yard back and 200 yard IM. Brady Porter recorded his career best in the 200 yard fly. Tillman Hawk continued his stellar freshman year with career bests in the 200, 500, and 1000 yard freestyles. Dylan Yoder rounded out the PR's with bests in the 50 yard free, 100 yard free, 50 yard breast, and 100 yard breast. 

Malone swimming & diving takes a break for the holiday season and returns to action on January 18 for the Oberlin College Double Duel.
