Women's Golf Finishes Third Round at Findlay

FINDLAY, Ohio – The Malone University women's golf team maintained their position on day two of the William Beall Fall Classic on Tuesday to place 17th with a 54-hole total of 963 (320-320-323). The University of Findlay pulled away in the third round to win the team award at 870 (290-289-291). It is the second-lowest team score over 54 holes in program history.
 
Maria Warner paced the Pioneers with a composite score of 232 (77-77-78). She tied for the lowest mark on the team in round three and had birdies on holes 16 and 18. Warner tied for 38th overall. She strung together the fifth-lowest score in program history in a 54-hole event.
 
Addison Burris had a pair of birdies as well en route to a score of 238 (79-77-82). The freshman hit under-par on holes 5 and 16, both par-4's. Erin Strouse was three-back of Burris at 241 (78-78-85). She had her lone birdie in the third round on the 14th hole.
 
Claire Hostetler improved her score on day two and completed the round at 78, tied with Warner for the lowest score. She wrapped up play at 258 (89-91-78) and birdied the par-5 4th hole. Savanna Porter was the final member of the Malone team at 264 (86-88-90) and hit for birdie on the final hole of the front nine.
 
A red team event is next on the schedule in the JCU Fall Invitational on October 5-6.
