Alliance, Ohio -- The Malone University men's and women's track & field team competed at the John Homon Open in Mount Union, Ohio on Thursday and Friday.

Women's Highlights
Anna Gregg (5th), Jenna Cassidy (10th), and Ella Pumneo (11th) clocked times of 2:22.19, 2:27.49, and 2:27.67, respectively in the 800-meter run.

Pumneo also competed in the 1500-meter run. She crossed the finish line at 4:53.93, resulting in a sixth place finish.

For throwing, Natalie Crum finished fifth with a throw of 10.79 meters in the shot put.

In the javelin throw, Jill Hawks threw for a distance of 30.76 meters, giving her a third place finish.

Rebekah Stoneman ran a time of 1:03.48 in the 400-meter dash.

Men's Highlights
In the discus throw, Donovan O'Neil threw a distance of 35.23 meters. 

In the 800-meter run, Eric Dehmer finished eighth with a time of 1:59.63.

Josiah Hicks and Jordyn Dillavou both competed in the 5000-meter run. Hicks placed fourth with a time of 15:35.78 and Dillavou crossed the finish line at 15:46.13, giving him a fifth place finish.

Daniel Ogbonna's prelim performance got him a ticket into the finals for the 100-meter dash. He was able to place 7th with a personal-best time of 11.27 seconds.

In the jumping events, Me'zel Square-Ward jumped a distance of 12.31 meters in the triple jump.

What's Next?
The Pioneers will travel to two different meets next weekend. A portion of the team will travel to Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania for the Bison Outdoor Classic on Friday, April 14, and Saturday, April 15. The rest of the team will go to Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio for the Tiffin Track Carnival on Friday, April 14, and Saturday, April 15.
