CANTON, Ohio | ASHLAND, Ohio -- The Malone University baseball team welcomed the newest member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) to town for a weekend series.
Scheduling conflicts at Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium forced the series to be split in locations between Munson, and Ashland University.
The Timberwolves opened the series with a doubleheader sweep, but on day two the Pioneers were able to get a walk-off win in game one to split the second doubleheader.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE SERIES
- Tyson Gingerich hit .571 in the series. He had 8 hits in 14 at bats. He also scored 6 runs and stole 3 bases.
- Anthony Bartiromo started all four games. He hit .462, and also hit his first collegiate home run in Friday's first game.
- Anthony Ryan had five hits in the series, and finished with a .357 batting average overall.
- Evan Balzano led Malone with 4 RBIs.
- In the third game of the series, Eric Baum's RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the Pioneers the 4-3 walk-off win.
- Danny Miller was credited with the win on the mound in game three. He came out of the bullpen in the top of the eighth, and retired the only batter he faced via a strikeout to get MU out of a jam.
WHAT'S NEXT
Malone does not have a midweek game this upcoming week. The Pioneers will be back in action on Friday, April 21 when they open up a four-game series at home with Lake Erie College.
