CANTON -- The Malone University baseball team played their first G-MAC home series of the season against Cedarville University.
The Pioneers won the first two games of the series, both of the nine inning affairs, however the Jackets swept the 7-inning doubleheader to finish the series split at two games each.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE SERIES
- Evan Balzano was an even .500 at the plate in the series with 8 hits in 16 at bats. He also tied Jake Aleman for a team-high 5 RBIs in the four games.
- Tyson Gingerich went 6-13 at the plate with 4 stolen bases.
- Clayton Criss had five hits. He was also hit by three pitches.
- Jeremy Tonelli and Anthony Ryan each had four base hits.
- Devin Norton turned in a masterful outing on the mound in the second game. He tossed 7.0 innings, and allowed just one hit. He also struck out 9 Yellow Jacket batters.
- Mitch Maurer was credited with the win in the series opener. He had seven strikeouts.
- Danny Miller picked up his third save of the season in game one.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Pioneers will travel to Notre Dame College on Tuesday for a non-conference game at 1:00 p.m.
