CANTON -- For the first time since the 2011 season, the Malone University men's soccer program is off to a 2-0 start.
Saturday night, the Pioneers scored twice in the first half, and three more times in the second 45 minutes to pick up a 5-1 win over Alderson Broaddus University.

THE MATCH
It took less than five minutes before Malone lit up the King Field scoreboard.
Tha Lwe and
Christian Piccolotto connected for Lwe's second goal of the season to give the Pioneers the early lead.
Late in the first half
Fraeday Moo sent a corner kick opportunity flying into the box. His service found the head of
Dylan Metz who put it home for Malone's second goal of the game.
Less than ten minutes into the second half Alderson Broaddus was awarded a penalty kick. The Battlers put the PK opportunity home to tighten things up at 2-1.
It was all Pioneers the rest of the way however.
Piccilotto scored in both the 72nd minute and the 84th minute.
Lwe also found the back of the net again, this time in 81st minute.
DETAILS
Malone outshout Alderson Broaddus by a 23-8 mark. 14 of the Pioneers opportunities were put on frame, compared to just five shots on goal for the Battlers.
Sophomore keeper
Gavyn Ernst tied a career-high with four saves in the match.

Malone hits the road for the first time this season.
The Pioneers will travel to Daemen University on Thursday for a non-conference match. Kick-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
