CANTON, Ohio - On Tuesday, the Malone University women's golf program announced the signing of Youngstown Cardinal Mooney standout Jayne Bernard to the 2021 recruiting class.
 
Bernard was a four-year letterwinner on the golf course, and earned two varsity letters in bowling.
 
She began and ended her high school career as the Bishops Cup medalist, shooting a 79 during her senior season.
 
Bernard was also named both First and Second Team All-State during her time with Cardinals
 
She qualified for the district tournament three times, and twice advanced to state.
 
Other high school honors include being named the player of the year in 2018 as well as winning medalist at both the 2019 sectional tournament and the Terlesky Tournament.
 
Bernard, who is the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Bernard, has been golfing since the age of seven and has been trained by her coach Joe Allen and her high school coach Mary Theresa Bellino.
