Women's Golf Finishes 2024-25 Season Strong

04/25/25

FLORENCE, Ind. – The Malone University women's golf team improved two positions from where they were at the weather delay on Thursday to a seventh-place finish at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship event at the Belterra Resort. The University of Findlay was 25 strokes ahead of second-place Tiffin University. Those two institutions will battle it out in a match play event on Saturday to determine the team champion.

The Pioneers saw all five student-athletes move up the leaderboard on day two of competition. Erin Strouse, who was a model of consistency throughout the 54-hole event, led Malone in scoring at 240 (80-80-80). She tied for 23rd in the conference and totaled four birdies (two in round one and two in round two). The junior had nothing above a bogey in the third and final round.

Freshman Addison Burris fired a 255 (88-84-83) and showed poise after a slow start. She improved in all three rounds despite the weather conditions doing the opposite. She had 18 pars in the final two rounds, including five in a row to begin the third round. Sophomore Maria Warner was one position behind Burris at 257 (90-85-82). She also improved each time through the course and had a birdie on the par-5 11th hole in round three.

Freshmen Claire Hostetler and Kaylyn Henson closed it out for the Pioneers. Hostetler tallied a 267 (93-90-84) with three birdies in the third round. Henson concluded her first season with the program with a 271 (92-92-87).
