Over the next several weeks the Malone Athletics department will recognize and spotlight senior student-athletes whose spring season was cut short due to the corona outbreak.

Rachel Russell and recognize her career highlights. Rachel is a nursing major from Niles, Ohio and Howland High School. She is the daughter of Rob and Lisa Russell
As a freshman in 2016-17, Rachel was part of the team that won Malone's first women's golf tournament since 2011. In fact, Rachel was part of three consecutive wins for the women's golf program that year. She finished 10th at the 2017 GMAC Championship where she shot a season-best single round of 86 and a season-best two-day score of 176.
As a sophomore, Rachel led the Lady Pios in fairways hit with an average of 43% playing 10 rounds. In Rachel's junior year, she shot her career best score of 84 at the Mount Union Invite and was also named to the GMAC All-Academic Team.
As a senior last fall, Rachel had her career best average of 88, improving her season average total by seven strokes over the course of her career.
A 2-time GMAC All-Academic performer, Rachel is part of the foundation for the future of Malone Women's Golf. Best wishes to you Rachel and your special family, we are proud of you and excited for you as you embark on an admirable career in nursing.
