Indoor Track & Field Completes Day One of Youngstown State Mid-Major Invite

Mackenna Curtis-Collins was the top-placing collegian in the women's 5,000 meters.

Day One Results

A total of 10 Pioneers took part in day-one events, including the 5,000 meters, weight throw, and long jump, Friday afternoon at the Youngstown State Mid-Major Invitational. The meet concludes on Saturday when the balance of events will be contested.
 
Friday Highlights
Pioneer distance ace Mackenna Curtis-Collins finished second in the women's 5,000 meters, running 17:42. 42. She trailed only Malone great Hannah Thompson, who was competing unattached. Thompson posted a 17:39.45 winning time. Dan Carmany ran 16:26.89 in the men's 5,000.
 
In the weight throw, Owen Zeiter threw 47'9" – eight inches shy of his personal best and a top-10 finish in Malone history. On the women's side, Natalie Crum recorded a 37'5" toss.
 
Two Pioneers competed in the long jump. Collin McClure jumped 19' 5.25" in the men's event while Logan Ferrucci posted a 14' 5.25" mark in the women's event.
