The Malone University volleyball suffered its second setback in as many days after Trevecca Nazarene University defeated the Pioneers 25-17, 25-19, 25-22 Saturday afternoon in Nashville. With the loss, Malone dropped to 6-11 on the season and 1-2 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.Â

Recap
Trevecca (10-8, 1-2 G-MAC) limited Malone to a season-low 24 kills in the sweep. Combined with a season-low two aces and a season-high 11 service errors, the Pioneer attack never really got untracked as Trevecca handed Malone its third straight loss and fourth three-set defeat of the season. Malone had a chance to salvage the third set, but after reaching a 21-21 deadlock, Trevecca won four of the final five points to come away with the triumph.

Freshman
Kayla Jarosz accounted for a team-high nine of Malone's 24 kills.
Brooklyn Sullivan and
Hannah Eliason, who each registered two blocks, and
Faith Lau, who tallied 11 digs, all produced four kills.
Elizabeth Selleny distributed a team-high 13 assists.
Â
Needing 13 digs to reach 1,000 for her career, senior libero
Sydney Black collected an even dozen. She will almost certainly meet the milestone in Malone's next match.
