The Malone University volleyball team wrapped up play at the Midwest Region Crossover in Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon with a three-set loss to the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The defeat dropped the Pioneers to 6-15 on the year.

The Pioneers struggled with their attack early, committing nine errors in the first set, in which UWP led throughout. In the second set, Malone eventually grabbed a 22-20 on a kill by
Cierra Gurney, but the Rangers won five of the next six points to take a two-set advantage.

In the third frame, Malone fought back from a 7-2 deficit and managed its own five-point lead before UWP came storming back. Down 22-17, the Rangers reeled off a 10-3 run to force Malone into its seventh-straight loss.

Kayla Jarosz produced a team-high 11 kills in the match,
Faith Lau tallied seven, and
Cierra Gurney matched a season-high with six kills.
Elizabeth Selleny distributed a team-high 16 assists. Defensively, senior
Sydney Black finished with 27 digs, one shy of a career-high, in just three sets. Freshman
Anna Hopple also recorded her first career block.
All-Tournament Team
Following the conclusion of all 62 matches among 41 teams at the event,
Sydney Black was named to the All-Tournament Team after ranking fourth with 5.73 digs per set.
