Junior Season (2021): Named to the Great Midwest Academic All-Conference Team and a NCCAA Scholar-Athlete... Gurney played in 16 matches, and made 3 starts for the Pioneers. She appeared in 31 total sets... Gurney posted 54 kills, including a career-high 12 in Malone's Hall of Fame City Challenge win over Slippery Rock. She also had 17 digs, 13 blocks, and 4 service aces.  

Sophomore Season (Spring 2021): Named to the Great Midwest Academic All-Conference Team... the COVID-19 pandemic forced the Pioneers to play an abbreviated championship season during the 2021 spring semester... Gurney started and played in all 11 matches for the Pioneers for a total of 38 sets played... She was third on the team with 62 kills, and also totaled 6 assists, 9 aces, and 7 blocks... Gurney put down a career high eight kills in back-to-back matches against Walsh on February 26 and Lake Erie on March 5. 

Freshman Season (2019): Named to the Great Midwest Academic All-Conference Team... Gurney appeared in 10 matches and made six starts in her freshman season, totaling 29 sets played... Recorded 29 kills, 15 digs, 10 blocks and one assist.

High School: In three seasons at Shelby High School, Gurney totaled 807 digs, 663 kills, 186 blocks, and 139 service aces. A two-year team captain, Gurney was named First Team Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference and First Team All-District 6 as a senior and participated in the District 6 All-Star Game. She also earned First Team All-Sandusky Bay Conference and Second Team All-District distinctions as a junior and was named Second Team All-Northern Ohio League as a sophomore. In addition to volleyball, Gurney earned three letters in basketball, two in track, and one in softball. In basketball, she led Shelby to an MOAC Championship during her senior season and was named Second Team All-MOAC and Honorable Mention All-District. She is the Whippets' all-time record holder in single-season rebounds. Academically. Gurney boasted a 4.60 GPA and  graduated top-2 in her class. She participated in Buckeye Girls State and was an AAU Academic All-American during her high school career.

Personal: Majoring in Nursing... Gurney has been on the Dean's List every semester she has been on campus. She is also the Co-leader of Nursing Christian Fellowship, and an officer of MNSA.
