Malone women's soccer head coach
Lauren Lindesmith announced on Friday that Rebekah Hennigh and Stephanie Radonjich will attend the University this fall and compete for the Pioneers' new reserve women's soccer team.
The reserve team will function much like the University's varsity team with regular practices and contests against other reserve and club teams from area colleges and universities.
"We are pleased to announce the Reserve Women's Soccer Team beginning in the fall of 2018," commented Lindesmith. "As a coaching staff, we are excited to have the opportunity to invest in more student-athletes through the game and continue to build upon our current program. Rebekah and Stephanie are going to be wonderful additions to both the University and the soccer program and we are excited and eager to have them join us this fall!"
Hennigh, a midfielder from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (New Covenant Christian School), was a four-year member of the Flames' basketball and soccer teams. She was named to the High Honor Roll in each of her four years of high school and was ranked No. 1 in her graduating class. Hennigh plans to major in Education at Malone.
Radonjich, a midfielder from Akron, Ohio (Lake Center Christian School), was a four-year member of the Tigers' soccer team in addition to being a two-year participant with the LCCS cheerleading squad. She was a two-time All-Conference selection for soccer while also receiving her team's overall Most Valuable Player and Defensive MVP Awards. Academically, Radonjich is a member of the National Honor Society and a recipient of the Athletic Scholar Award and the Academic Excellence Award. Stephanie is the sister of current Malone men's soccer player Stephen Radonjich and intends to major in Exercise Science and Pre-Physical Therapy at the University.
