The Malone University track and field teams sent student-athletes to three separate meets on Friday afternoon as the Pioneers competed at the Grand Valley State University 2nd To Last Chance Meet, North Central College's Keeler Invitational and Allegheny College's Gator Invitational.

GVSU Highlights
Duke Taylor broke his own personal and Great Midwest Athletic Conference records in the discus as he surpassed the NCAA Division II National Championship automatic qualifying mark with a toss of 56.62 meters (185' 9"). Taylor's impressive heave ranks as third-best discus toss in Division II this year.
Ashton Dulin competed in both the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles. He took third in the 110 hurdles with a time 14.67 seconds and second in the 400 hurdles with a mark of 52.33 seconds.
Erika Rector took third in the 1500 meters in 4:49.89.

North Central Highlights
Jade Smith smashed the G-MAC record and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships in the 3000-meter steeplechase, placing fifth among 34 competitors with a time of 10:46.86. The strong showing ranks as the second-fastest 3000-meter steeplechase time in Pioneer history.
Hannah Thompson also competed in the steeplechase, just missing her PR with a 14th-place finish in 11:09.55.
George McCartney placed 25th among 62 competitors in the men's steeplechase with a personal record time of 9:25.49.

Allegheny Highlights
Rebekah Carr clocked the third-fastest 400 meters time in Malone history on Friday as she placed third in 57.57 seconds.
Emily Luli placed 12th in the 800 meters with a mark of 2:23.30.
Daniel Carmany finished 11th in the 5000 meters after posting a time of 16:46.93.
